Deadlines…

Wow! It has been a busy week. I’m sure you can relate. I have the pleasure of hanging around people who are not only extremely talented, but  just plain funny. Jeff Cummings is one of those people. He is a man of many talents. I constantly tease with him about the fact that I need to get him a notebook to write down all the great figurative phrases and analogies he comes up with.

I love what he said the other day. He said, “People are like chickens and hogs. The chickens contributed to the breakfast but the hogs were committed.” This sums up the week I’ve had and am so grateful that we got some things done that we needed to do.

Musically, Jeff is steeped in blues. He plays the best harmonica I have ever heard and I’m so proud he is a member of our band. If you get to catch us at Callaway Gardens on September 4th, he will be there.

Yesterday at Wishbone Studios in Muscle Shoals, I finished the last song for my CD. This song was special to me because I had wanted to write about a particular place for years and I finally put it together.
